Due to an anomaly on 29 May 2019, still ongoing, Copernicus Sentinel-3B OLCI NRT/NTC and SYN L1/L2 data belonging to sensing time window starting from 15:20 UTC on 29 May are missing. Investigation into the root cause is ongoing.

Most of us probably wouldn't think of describing snow in terms of its grain size. However, grain size is fundamental to the amount of sunlight that snow reflects back into space - its albedo. With both snow and albedo part of the climate system, scientists are applying a novel analytical theory to Copernicus Sentinel-3 data and shedding new light on Greenland's changing albedo.

A new set of Copernicus Sentinel-3 Synergy products will be systematically produced starting on 3 June. The Synergy Short-Term-Critical products are produced during the same day of sensing using the underlying OLCI and SLSTR NRT products; i.e. using meteorological forecast data.

Due to a ground station issue, which occurred on 26 May 2019, Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3A data related to orbit #17040 are missing.

Due to an issue at Ground Segment  level on 11 May, following Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3B data have been missed:

  • OLC  from 2019-05-11T10:49:03 UTC to 2019-05-11T11:33:28 UTC

  • OLC from _20190427T10:52:23 UTC to 20190427T11:36:44 UTC.

Due to an issue occurring at Ground Segment level on 27 April 2019, following Near Real Time, Short Time critical and Non Time Critical Copernicus Sentinel-3A data related to orbit 16623 have been missed:

  • SLSTR  from 20190427T10:54:25 UTC to 20190427T12:34:25 UTC
  • SRAL from 20190427T10:53:42 UTC to 20190427T12:34:25 UTC
  • OLC from _20190427T10:52:23 UTC to 20190427T11:36:44 UTC.

From 19 April 2019, Copernicus Sentinel-3A SRAL L1 SR_1_SRA_A_ and SR_1_SRA_BS reprocessed data will be available through the Open Data Hub and Copernicus Services Data Hub. These products belong to the same reprocessing campaign of SR_1_SRA and SR_2_LAN, which was published in November 2018.

Due to decontamination activities of the Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) instrument on Copernicus Sentinel-3B, SLSTR products will be degraded and/or missing within the sensing time window of 11 to 17 April 2019.

We are pleased to announce the publication of commissioning data on the Open Hub, covering a gap on users' hub, following the official release of Copernicus Sentinel-3B Synthetic Aperture Radar Altimeter (SRAL) products on December 2018.

ESA and the EU invite entries for a contest to submit scripts for the Sentinel Hub EO Browser. If you are interested in winning a trip to ESRIN or a prize of up to 1,000 EUR, submit your entry for the Sentinel Hub custom script contest by 5 May 2019.

ESA is pleased to announce the official release of the Copernicus Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) Sentinel-3A and -3B products on the Open Access Hub.

An international group of scientists have published the first study using data from the Copernicus Sentinel-3 Delay-Doppler altimeter, to monitor Antarctic Ice Sheet change.

Due to a Ground Segment anomaly that occurred on 5 March, Near Real-Time SRAL Level 1 (SR_1_SRA_) and Level 2 (SR_2_LAN) Copernicus Sentinel-3A products acquired between 13:54:44 and 15:27:27 UTC are missing.

With two sensors now in orbit, the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites could monitor some parts of the world almost daily. This capability could be crucial in monitoring rapidly developing events such as biotic/abiotic stress on crops and provide accurate and timely information from farmers to policy-makers, to develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

The Level 2 Land Surface Temperature data (SL_2_LST) both in Near-Real-Time (NRT) and in Non-Time-Critical (NTC) timeliness of the Copernicus Sentinel-3B Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) instrument and all Synergy data product types (SY_2_SYN, SY_2_VGP, SY_2_VG1, SY_2_V10) are now available on the Sentinel-3 Pre-Operational Hub.

The Copernicus Sentinel-3 Altimetry Processing Baseline (PB) was deployed on 14 February 2019 at the ESA Sentinel-3 Land centres.

Due to a network issue, Near Real Time SLSTR Level 1 and Level 2 Copernicus Sentinel-3A and -3B products on 14 February 2019 starting from sensing time 08:20 to 10:30 UTC will be delayed. Recovery is on going.

Due to an issue which occurred at the Payload Data Ground Segment level, SY_2_V10 Copernicus Sentinel-3A products starting from sensing time 10-01-2019T11:17 UTC to 20-01-2019T11:17 UTC are unavailable.

Users are informed that a maintenance activity at the core infrastructure hosting the data hub services, is planned on 6 February from 09:00 to 14:00 UTC.
