Science test data were down-linked over Svalbard and successfully acquired by the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS). Instrument testing results showing all green! ![]() |

The TROPOMI radiator cooler door was successfully opened and light enters from now on the TROPOMI Instrument. End of decontamination phase and start of TROPOMI cool down. Sentinel-5P reaches its loose formation flying position with the S-NPP (Suomi - National Polar Partnership) satellite (flying about 5 minutes behind). |
08 November 2017 | TROPOMI SWIR detectors reach operational temperature (140 K). |
13 November 2017 | TROPOMI UVN detectors reach operational temperature (208 K). |
15 November 2017 | First solar irradiance measurements performed. |
21 December 2017 | Release of first TROPOMI Level 1 and Level 2 sample data products to expert users via ftp server. |
5/6 February 2018 | Expert users meeting at ESTEC - first feedback from the Sentinel-5 Precursor Validation Team (S5PVT) |
15 March 2018 | Release of TROPOMI Level 1 and Level 2 sample data products to expert users via the Sentinel-5 Precursor Expert Users Data Hub. |
19 April 2018 | The Level 1B processor (V1.0) developed by KNMI (with support by SRON) has been activated in the PDGS. |

The In Orbit Commissioning Review (IOCR) took place at ESRIN, marking the end of the Sentinel-5 Precursor Commissioning Phase.

25 April 2018 | Start of the Sentinel-5 Precursor ramp-up phase with a planned duration of 8 months |
30 April 2018 | The TROPOMI instrument started measuring in nominal operations baseline with a 360 orbit repeat cycle. |
09 May 2018 | The Level 2 processors (V1.0) developed by KNMI (supported by SRON), and DLR (supported by BIRA/IASB and RAL) have been activated in the PDGS. |
25-26 June 2018 | The "First Sentinel-5 Precursor Products Release Workshop" took place at ESRIN where Calibration/Validation (Cal/Val) results were presented for: Level 1B radiance/irradiance (Offline–OFFL production), Ozone (Near Real Time–NRT production), Carbon Monoxide (OFFL production), Nitrogen Dioxide (NRT & Offline production), Aerosol Index and Clouds information (NRT & Offline production). |

First public release of Sentinel-5 Precursor products (Level 1B, Total Ozone, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Cloud & Aerosol information) at the Open Access Hub Web portal on the Sentinel-5 Precursor Pre-Operations Data Hub.

Second public release of Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor products (Sulphur Dioxide (NRT), Formaldehyde (NRT), Total Ozone (Offline)).

The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), which is implemented by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) on behalf of the European Union, is now including near-realtime Sentinel-5P ozone data in their daily analysis and forecast system.
