Due to an issue that occurred at the PDGS level on 2 March 2020, Copernicus Sentinel-3B data are delayed.

As a result of three planned instrument special operations on the Copernicus Sentinel-3A spacecraft, additional OLCI scientific data over high latitude regions have been acquired for 9 not consecutive sensing orbits.

Due to a Copernicus Sentinel-3A SLSTR instrument anomaly and consequent recovery action executed on 3 February, related user products will be unavailable or degraded between 3 and 9 February.

Due to an issue at the Ground Segment level on 29 January, SLSTR Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3 data starting from sensing time (UT) 09:34:00 on 29 January to 06:40:00 on 30 January have been delayed.

With reference to the Product Notice S3.PN-STM-L1.07, S3A.PN-STM-L2L.09, a new processing baseline for Copernicus Sentinel-3 SRAL/MW products was released at the Land Centre at 12:20 UTC on 21 January.

With reference to the Product Notice S3.PN-SLSTR-L1.07, S3.PN-SLSLTR-L2.03 and S3.PN-SYN-L2.05, on 15 January a new processing baseline for Copernicus Sentinel-3 SLSTR and Synergy products was released at the Land Centre.

In response to scientific user recommendations, precise orbital products and platform data files computed by the Copernicus POD Service, have been officially released for the Sentinel-3 mission, on the Copernicus Data Hub service.

We are pleased to announce a new forthcoming processing baseline for Copernicus Sentinel-3 "LAND" STM products.

Due to an issue at the Pick-up Point infrastructure level on 30 December, OLC, SLSTR and SRAL Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3 data starting from approximately 08:30 (UTC) sensing time could be delayed.

We are pleased to announce a new forthcoming processing baseline for Copernicus Sentinel-3 SLSTR products, which includes the following highlights:

  • L1: New method for re-gridding instrument pixels
  • L1: Cosmetic filling method update
  • L1: Improved geometric calibration for F1 channel (reduced spatial offset between F1 and S7)
  • LST: Improved performance of retrieval of LST measurements
  • LST: Improved cloud flagging

The Copernicus Sentinel family is almost fully composed of twins. Because of their large field of view, these twins see many locations in the High Arctic two or more times per day, with time lags of minutes to hours. In this resulting time-lapse, satellite imagery of a range of short-lived movements on Earth's surface can be detected.

Due to two scheduled special operations on the Copernicus Sentinel-3 SLSTR instruments, SLSTR mission data will be available but IR channels will be degraded during the duration of the maintenance activity.

Following the first year of operations of the Long Term Archive (LTA) Access interfaces for Copernicus Sentinel-1, the LTA interface will soon be operated for both Copernicus Sentinel-2 and 3.

Thousands of fires have broken out in the Amazon rainforest. Satellite data show that there are almost four times as many fires this year compared to the same period last year. Apart from Brazil, parts of Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina have also been affected.

Due to an issue at Ground Segment level on 17 July, OLC, SLSTR and SRAL Near Real Time, Short Time Critical and Non Time Critical Copernicus Sentinel-3B data from the following time period are affected: 17/07/2019 20:14 to 17/07/2019 21:55 UTC.

Heatwave conditions catapulted Greenland into an early Arctic summer in June, prompting widespread melting across its icesheet surface, according to researchers at the Danish Meteorological Institute.

Due to an issue at network level today - which has now been solved - all Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3 data starting from approximate sensing time 08:00 to 10:00 UTC will be delayed.

As reported in the news of 11 June, the Copernicus Sentinel-3 Pre-operational hub will be decommissioned today, 19 June 2019. Copernicus Sentinel-3 production will continue to be available on the Open Access Hub.

Due to a scheduled power outage at the CLS data centre on 4 June 2019, some of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 SRAL NRT L1/L2 data acquired on this day are missing.

Copernicus Sentinel-3A and 3B NTC SYN products generated between 30 May 09:00 UTC and 3 June 15:00 UTC were affected by a processing problem leading to a degraded output.
