Fogo volcano eruption: preliminary results from TopSAR Interferometry

On 23 November 2014, an eruption started on Fogo Volcano (Cape Verde), almost 20 years from the previous one.
The two Sentinel-1 images were acquired in TopSAR Interferometric Wide (IW) mode (VV polarisation) along an ascending path. The data captured the first sin-eruptive deformation and was used to estimate the displacement pattern over the caldera. The incidence angle of the analysed sub-swath is 34 degrees, with a spatial resolution of approximately 15m.
The differential interferogram (using GAMMA software tools) has been computed by removing the topographic phase with SRTM DEM and applying a multilook (4 x1 in range and azimuth) in order to maintain full resolution. Finally a MCF algorithm has been applied for phase unwrapping.
