On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signature of the Baveno Manifesto, a special event has been organised by the European Commission in partnership with ESA and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

Media representatives are invited to attend the event on 20-21 June 2018, which is being held in Baveno, Italy, and also visit the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

The event will highlight the achievements of the European Copernicus programme since the initial commitment of intents in 1998 and examine how the programme has evolved into an independent European Earth Observation system that delivers services for the environment and for security.
