MAAP (Monitoring of the Amazon Project), a programme within the organisation Amazon Conservation, focuses on real-time monitoring of deforestation and fires. Copernicus Sentinel-5P data are a game changer in their work to monitor Amazon fires.

As a consequence of maintenance activity executed on the Copernicus Sentinel-3A spacecraft on 27/01 from UTC time 08:18 to 08:29, reduced data quality for all the SRAL related user products should be expected for data sensed during this period. Reduced data quality for SLSTR user products can be moreover expected from approximately 08:18 to 10:43.”

A maintenance activity has been scheduled to take place on Sentinel Online from 07:30 to 08:30 UTC on 8 February.

An anomaly has been discovered in Copernicus Sentinel-3 OLCI L1B data, affecting boundaries of areas reaching full pixel saturation that typically affect bright clouds.

A maintenance activity on the core infrastructure hosting the data hub services, involving the update of the network infrastructure, is planned on 9 February from 08:00 to 16:00 UTC.

On 8 November 2020, the 9th edition of the world's unique sailing race—the Vendée Globe—set off from Les Sables-d'Olonne in western France, with a route of some 25,000 nautical miles (approximately 46,000 km) going through the Atlantic and into the heart of the Southern Ocean. Data from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite have been used to identify risky iceberg areas, providing the safest route for the skippers.

A series of maintenance activities are scheduled from 26 January to 10 February 2021 for updating the data hub software.

Copernicus Sentinel-1A was unavailable between 21:42 UTC on 19 January 2021 and 10:02 UTC on 20 January, due to a SAR antenna anomaly. No data were generated during this period.

Due to a network issue at ground station level, which occurred in the night between 16 and 17 January, the nominal availability of several Copernicus Sentinel-2A products from sensing orbit 29095 to 29102 and several Copernicus Sentinel-2B products from sensing orbit 20185 to 20193 was prevented. The recovery of missing products is in progress and is going to be completed by this week.

A maintenance activity has been scheduled to take place on Sentinel Online from 10:00 to 12:30 UTC on 21 January.
