Following the release of Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor (S5P) full mission reprocessed datasets of four products on 5 December 2022, ESA announce a second release covering the whole mission 30 April 2018 to 25 July 2022:
- L1B products
- L2 products: Methane (L2_CH4__),
- Nitrogen Dioxide (L2_NO2__) and
- Aerosol Layer Height (L2__AER_LH) products.
Regarding the products already released on 5 December 2022 for the period 30 April 2018 to 31 March 2022 :
- Carbon Monoxide,
- Total Ozone,
- CLOUD and
- Absorbing Aerosol Index
Please note that products from the period covering 1st April 2022 to 25 July 2022 will also be made available as part of this release, completing the release of these data sets for the mission.
The data will be gradually published starting from around the 3 March 2023 and the complete datasets will be available by end March 2023. The reprocessing baseline (i.e., processor versions and configurations) is equivalent to the baseline deployed in the operational ground-processing system on July 2022. Therefore, a consistent dataset will be available since the beginning of the operational mission (orbit 2818, 30 April 2018).
It is recommended to use the RPRO products in the period for which also OFFL products are available (i.e., between orbits 24655-24779 for some products, between orbits 24655-24898 for others). This, in order to avoid using products with possible instabilities, because generated during the first days of the operational switch to version 2.4.0 in July 2022.
The reprocessed products can be found on the S5P Pre-Ops Hub and can be identified by the file class ‘RPRO’ in the filenames. The collection identifier is ‘03’, the same used for the operational dataset that is available since mid-July 2022.
It is planned to publish the remaining S5P reprocessed datasets (i.e., SO2, HCHO, O3 Tropospheric column and O3 Profile), during the second quarter of 2023.
