The nominal Sentinel-1 production rate has been restored and all products are nominally available for user data access.

ESA invites you to take part in the continuous improvement process by providing feedback related to your experience of accessing and using EO data and related information and services from the Copernicus Sentinel Missions during 2020.

Infrastructure security maintenance activities are scheduled on the Data Hubs on:

  • Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 February
  • Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 February

Due to an issue that occurred at Ground Segment level, the Near Real Time , Short Time Critical and Non Time Critical Copernicus Sentinel-3A OLC, SLSTR and SRAL Level 1 and Level2 products (including S3A/S3B SYN NTC/STC data) starting from sensing time 11-02-2021T14:05:00 UT to 15:46:00 UT (orbit 25979) will be missed.

As a consequence of a wrong calibration parameter in the ground segment activated in the night between 10 and 11 February, the Copernicus Sentinel-2A L1C and L2A production systematically failed up to the roll-back to the previous ground segment configuration finalised in mid-morning today. The impact is from Sentinel-2A sensing orbit 29457 to 29461.

As a consequence of maintenance activity executed on the Copernicus Sentinel-3B spacecraft on 03/02 from UTC time 07:55 to 08:29, reduced data quality for all the SRAL related user products should be expected for data sensed during this period.

Due to an anomaly in the Sentinel-1 Ground Segment operations, Sentinel-1 production rate is slowed down since 6th February and products are being made available to users with some delay.

Due to a couple of ground segment contingencies that occurred during the night between 8 and 9 February, the nominal availability of several Copernicus Sentinel-2A products from sensing orbit 29418 to 29432 and several Copernicus Sentinel-2B products from sensing orbit 20510 to 20523 was prevented.

Copernicus Sentinel-1B was unavailable on 5 February 2021 between 10:25 and 18:26 UTC, due to a Payload Data Handling and Transmission (PDHT) sub-system software anomaly.

MAAP (Monitoring of the Amazon Project), a programme within the organisation Amazon Conservation, focuses on real-time monitoring of deforestation and fires. Copernicus Sentinel-5P data are a game changer in their work to monitor Amazon fires.

success stories

Calling on all interested users of Sentinel data, who would like to submit their results, turning their experiences into 'success stories'.

If you have a good story to tell, of how any of the Sentinel satellites are producing data that bring benefit to your work and/or to society, please contact the Sentinel Online Editor Malì Cecere at: mali.cecere@ejr-quartz.com with your proposals.
