Due to a network issue affecting the Inuvik station the following Sentinel-5P Near Real Time data are not available:

  • On 07/08/2023 from 13:25 until 21:43 UTC impacting orbits 30136 to 30141 (included)

  • On 08/08/2023 from 09:36 until 21:25 UTC impacting orbits 30148 to 30155 (included)

  • Today 09/08/2023 starting from 09:17 UTC and orbit 30162, with further data loss expected during the day

The data are not lost and will be processed in the non time critical (OFFL) processing when the issue is resolved. The situation is being monitored and steps taken to reduce the loss of NRT processing, however, further gaps in the NRT processing may be unavoidable in the coming days. Our apologies for the inconvenience this may cause to your activities.

Due to Copernicus Sentinel-3A SLSTR instrument anomaly and related recovery operations, SLSTR Products degradation or unavailability is expected for sensing time from 06/08/2023T13:08:31 to 08/08/2023T19:00:00 UTC.

As a consequence of an network anomaly, which occurred at the Inuvik Ground Station, all related Copernicus Sentinel-2 products are unavailable from sensing time 07 August 2023 14:07 for Sentinel-2A and 07 August 2023 16:18 for Sentinel-2B, corresponding to between 25% and 30% of the entire production.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to your activities.

Further news will be provided, as soon as the anomaly is further investigated.

A Collision Avoidance Manoeuvre executed on Sentinel-1A on 3 August 2023 induced the following unrecoverable loss of data:

· Datatakes 05FA0E, 05FA0F and 05FA38 are partially lost

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

The Copernicus Precise Orbital Determination (CPOD) service is responsible for generating and validating orbital and auxiliary products for the Sentinel-1, -2, -3 and -6 missions. Now the CPOD team has improved the accuracy of the service’s outputs by incorporating a new time variable gravity field model into its data processing procedures.

Precise estimation of a satellite’s orbit is essential for mission operations and supports the exploitation of the data its instrumentation collects, by facilitating the planning of acquisitions and data processing.

The CPOD service delivers products to support ESA’s Copernicus ground segment and EUMETSAT’s Copernicus ground segment, as well as the data user community. It is operated by technology business group GMV, which leads a consortium of space agencies, universities and commercial companies with expertise in precise orbit determination.

Due to an operational mistake, a few Sentinel-2 Collection-1 products issued from the on-going reprocessing activities, and featuring an anomaly in their TCI component metadata, have just been released on the dissemination channels in the year 2019 sensing time frame. The list of products is provided here, while the products are being removed from the dissemination channels.

Users are invited to avoid downloading the listed products, or to delete them from their archive should they have already been downloaded. it is clarified that new corrected products, with identical identifiers, will start being redistributed later this year, when year 2019 will nominally be disseminated.

We apologies for the inconvenience that this might cause to your activities.

Due to predicted outage for Copernicus Sentinel-3A In-Plane Manoeuvres, data will be degraded on hereafter products:

  • Copernicus Sentinel-3A SLSTR: products degradation is expected for sensing time from 30/07/2023T14:25:03 to 30/07/2023T14:34:51 and from 30/07/2023T16:54:44 to 30/07/2023T17:05:18

  • Copernicus Sentinel-3A OLCI: products degradation is expected for sensing time from 30/07/2023T14:25:03 to 30/07/2023T14:34:51

Due to predicted outage for Copernicus Sentinel-3A In-Plane Manoeuvre, SLSTR Products degradation is expected for sensing time from 27/07/2023T08:05:45 to 27/07/2023T08:15:35 UTC.

Due to predicted outage for Copernicus Sentinel-3B In-Plane Manoeuvre, SLSTR Products degradation is expected for sensing time from 27/07/2023T07:30:39 to 27/07/2023T07:40:44 UTC.

Part of the auxiliary data required for Sentinel-5P Methane (CH4) originates from Suomi-NPP, a satellite that is operated by NOAA. This satellite entered a non-nominal state on 2023-07-26. As a consequence, science data won't be available to the Sentinel-5P processing system. More updates about the recovery will be published as available.

In addition to a significant impact on the CH4 data, some impact should be expected for the aerosol layer height product. At the moment the offline aerosol layer height product is using the near-real time methods to mask clouds from the incoming data. The resulting aerosol layer height product is still considered to be of usable quality. The unavailability also causes a minor quality degradation for the CLOUD offline product and subsequently for all other products that use CLOUD offline data as input, namely the O3, HCHO, SO2, and the O3-TCL offline products. However this impact is not critical and the mentioned products can still be considered of good quality
