With four days to liftoff, the next Sentinel satellite for Copernicus is now on the launch pad at the Plesetsk cosmodrome in northern Russia.

Sentinel-3 family grows

The signature of a €450 million contract to build two more satellites for the Sentinel-3 mission was celebrated by ESA and Thales Alenia Space of France at an event in Paris yesterday.

A new version of the Sentinel App is available. It features S-3A. Tracking will show S-3A orbital positions shortly after launch!
Moments after Sentinel-3A separates from its rocket, a team of European mission control specialists will assume control, shepherding the new spacecraft through its critical first days in space.
With the launch of Sentinel-3A confirmed for 16 February, preparations for liftoff are charging full speed ahead. The tricky task of fuelling the satellite has now been ticked off the 'to do list' and the propulsion team is already decontaminating their equipment before returning home.
If you are, or are interested in becoming a user of Copernicus data or service information, the European Commission sincerely would appreciate your time and effort in completing a "call for interest" survey.

Starting on 29 January 2016, a new dedicated access point for the dissemination of the Sentinel products is in place for the Copernicus Service Project members: the Copernicus Services Data Hub.

The Sentinel data dissemination service is back online. The infrastructure issue that occurred on Friday 22 January, at 12:30 UTC, has been solved.

A severe infrastructure failure within the Data Centre hosting the Sentinel Data Hubs has caused the interruption of the open Sentinels data dissemination as of Friday 22 January, 13:30 CET.
