A freely accessible remote sensing analysis platform whose user base has continued to expand since its launch 2014 is expected to reach one million downloads during this week’s Living Planet Symposium, according to the ESA engineers that oversee the tool’s operation and development.

This comes as they finalise an updated version of the virtual tool, slated for release next week.

Copernicus Sentinel-1A was unavailable between 16:21 UTC on 23 May 2022 and 08:03 UTC on 24 May 2022, due to a SAR anomaly.

No data were generated during this period.

Due to predicted outage for S3B In-Plane manoeuvre #060, SLSTR products degradation is expected for sensing time from 24/05/2022T07:45:39 to 24/05/2022T07:55:43.

The Living Planet Symposium will take place from 23 to 27 May 2022 in Bonn, Germany, and ESA is taking the opportunity to invite feedback on its services with an online survey. Your feedback will help improve the range and quality of the data and services offered.

Complete the survey.

Take 10 minutes of your time to share your experience in using data from ESA's Earth Explorers, ESA and Third Party Heritage Missions, Third Party Missions, Copernicus Sentinel Missions and Copernicus Contributing Missions and let ESA know of any future needs you may have.

Participants to the Living Planet Symposium will receive a reward when visiting the Welcome Desk at the ESA booth. Simply complete the survey and you will receive a code, which you need to present at the booth.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we look forward to seeing you at the Living Planet Symposium.

Due to predicted outage for S3A In-Plane manoeuvre #066, SLSTR products degradation is expected for sensing time from 18/05/2022T06:03:24 to 18/05/2022T06:13:28.

An in-situ sea ice monitoring campaign that was completed off the west coast of Greenland is set to help reinforce confidence in data delivered by Copernicus Sentinel-3. To collect the sea ice measurements, scientists used a conventional aircraft that carries observation systems, as well as new technologies, such as monitoring buoy and a drone equipped with radar and imaging instruments. The campaign – which was led by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) – formed part of the St3TART project, an initiative led by science engineering firm NOVELTIS that facilitates the production of high-quality, robust information from the Sentinel-3 mission of the European Union’s Copernicus Programme.

Due to Copernicus Sentinel-3B DORIS Software Update activity, SRAL products degradation is expected for the following sensing times: from 24/05/2022T08:20:00 to 24/05/2022T08:22:00 and from 25/05/2022T07:55:00 to 25/05/2022T07:57:00.

Collision avoidance manoeuvres were executed on Sentinel-1A to reduce the risk of collision with a Cosmos-1408 debris (1982), potentially occurring on 16 May 2022 at 22:55 UTC.

Five Sentinel-1A data download links through the European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS), taking place between 18:00 UTC on 16 May 2022 and 06:15 UTC on 17 May 2022, had to be cancelled due to these orbit manoeuvres.

SAR acquisitions taking place slightly before and during this period may have been affected.

Sentinel-1A was unavailable on 12 May 2022 between 14:26 UTC and 21:12 UTC, due to a Payload Data Handling and Transmission (PDHT) sub-system anomaly. No data were generated during this period, data acquired slightly before this period may have been affected.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
