Thanks to a new system developed by scientists in the UK, taking to the waves for a spot of surfing can benefit research into the health of coastal waters, and could help confirm satellite measurements of sea-surface temperature.

From agricultural monitoring to charting changing lands, early images from Europe's new Sentinel-2A satellite show how the 'colour vision' mission's critical observations can be used to keep us and our planet safe.

Following a recent upgrade to the Sentinel-1 Instrument Processing Facility (IPF) a correction was introduced to the Elevation Antenna Patterns. This has resulted in a range varying phase offset when generating interferograms using products produced between V236 and V243 of the IPF.
Sentinel-1 satellite operations will be paused on Wednesday 22 July from 06:00 UTC to 12:00 UTC in order to perform an on-board maintenance activity. No SAR acquisitions will be performed during this period.
The tiling grid for Sentinel-2 Level-1C products is now available for download.
ESA is pleased to announce the publication of the first Sentinel-2A sample product acquired during the first month of satellite commissioning. The product is available for download from the Sentinel Scientific Data Hub.

The European Commission has launched two surveys aiming at gathering feedback from users of Copernicus and supporting the development of the programme.

The Hellenic National Sentinel Data Hub (the Greek Mirror Site) was recently opened, and disseminates data from the Sentinel satellites to south-eastern Europe (i.e. the Balkans peninsula, along with Italy, France and the Iberian peninsula) as well as the Middle East and North Africa.
Sentinel-1 Wave Mode data is regularly acquired over open oceans and systematically processed to Level-2 OCN products. Wave Mode Level-2 OCN products will be available for user download from 2 July 2015 at the Sentinel Scientific Data Hub.
Just four days after being lofted into orbit, Europe's Sentinel-2A satellite delivered its first images of Earth, offering a glimpse of the 'colour vision' that it will provide for the Copernicus environmental monitoring programme.
