A new processing tool has been developed to bundle information contained in large amounts of satellite data, paving the way for the wealth of Copernicus Sentinel satellite data to be more easily incorporated into online environment-monitoring services.

A series of maintenance activities both at infrastructure and at application level are scheduled for the 04, 05 and 12 April 2017.
As a consequence of a Sentinel-2 PDGS ground segment anomaly, the publication of Sentinel-2A products in the data hubs was temporarily unavailable from 1 to 3 April 2017, between sensing orbit 9266 and 9296.

Today we are interviewing ESA's Philippe Goryl, who is responsible for leading the data quality managers of the various Sentinel missions.

Due to a mission planning anomaly, no Sentinel-2 MSI data has been acquired between 12:43 UTC (orbit 9158) and 16:15 UTC (orbit 9160) on Friday 24 March 2017.

With the pair of Sentinel-2 satellites now in orbit, users are looking ahead to mapping global land cover at 10 m resolution.

Satellite radar scans of last year's earthquake in New Zealand are changing the way we are thinking about earthquake hazards in regions where our planet's tectonic plates meet.
Sentinel-1B was unavailable between 21 March 16:23 UTC and 22 March 11:53 UTC, due to a SAR anomaly.
Further to the news from 16 March, please be informed that since 17 March 2017, 22:26 UTC, the Sentinel-3A SLSTR instrument has been fully recovered.

Celebrated today, the International Day of Forests raises awareness on the importance of forests globally. Some 30% of Earth's land surface is covered by forests. Every minute, an area of forest equal to ten football fields is lost (FAO FRA 2015).

Calling on all interested users of Sentinel data, who would like to submit their results, turning their experiences into 'success stories'.

If you have a good story to tell, of how any of the Sentinel satellites are producing data that bring benefit to your work and/or to society, please contact the Sentinel Online Editors at: contentmatters4sentinelonline@ejr-quartz.com with your proposals.
