The amount of carbon stored in Earth's forests and how it is changing will be measured in the forthcoming Climate Change Initiative Biomass project, in which the legacy of GlobBiomass will be carried forward to the Sentinels' era.

In relation to the network incident affecting Svalbard CGS site on 27 May 2018, SRAL L1/L2 and MW1 STC products were impacted in the following sensing time window: 27-05T02:00 UTC  to 28-05T11:00 UTC.
Following the successful completion of the publication of the first batch of Sentinel-2A Level 1C products concerning December 2016, a second batch is about to be published on the Open Access Data Hub and Copernicus Services Data Hub.

The publication will start on Tuesday, 05 June 2018.

Sicily hotspot

Launched on 25 April 2018, Sentinel-3B has already delivered some impressive first images from its ocean and land colour instrument, from its altimeter and from the optical channels of its radiometer.
A temporary service downtime was experienced on 02 June 2018 from 00:00 UTC to 03:18 UTC on the Open Access Hub.

Fuego Plume

04 June 2018

On 03 June 2018, the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite measured sulphur dioxide in the plume spewing from the Fuego volcano in Guatemala.
Sentinel-1A was unavailable on 02 June 2018 between 01:22 UTC and 09:41 UTC, due to an onboard software anomaly.
A database maintenance activity is foreseen on the Sentinel-3 Pre-Operations Data Hub on Friday, 01 June 2018 from 08:00 to 14:00 UTC.
Due to a SAR anomaly, Sentinel-1A was unavailable on 31 May 2018 from 06:37 UTC to 09:54 UTC.

Due to a network issue at the Svalbard Core Ground Segment site, Sentinel-3A NRT products in the following time windows (sensing time) are missing:

  • OLC and SLSTR L1/L2: from 13:54 to 15:35 UTC on 27 May 2018 and from 18:00 UTC on 27 May to 09:42 UTC on 29 May
  • SRAL L1/L2: from 05:39 to 10:13 UTC on 28 May
