The Sentinel-1B satellite is still finalising its commissioning phase, planned to be completed by mid September 2016. However it was already regularly acquiring data over Central Italy when the 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred on 24 August 2016.
Infrastructure maintenance activities on the Data Hubs are foreseen on Wednesday, 31 August 2016 from 09:30 CEST to 15:00 CEST.
On 24 August, an earthquake struck central Italy, claiming at least 290 lives and causing widespread damage. Satellite images are being used to help emergency aid organisations, while scientists have begun to analyse ground movement.

Sentinel-2A products generated between orbits 6003 (acquired on 15 August 2016) and 6011 (acquired on 16 August 2016) suffer important geolocation error from 30m up to 130m as a direct consequence of the collision avoidance manoeuvre that took place at this time.

Due to an anomaly in the ground segment a set of degraded Sentinel-2 data products were published on the Sentinel Data Hubs between the morning of 3 August to mid afternoon of 5 August 2016.

By early September 2016, Sentinel-2 Level-1C products will start being distributed on the Sentinels Data Hubs in single-tile packages following the current product format and naming convention (PSD 13.1).

Infrastructure maintenance activities on the Data Hubs are foreseen on Wednesday, 03 August 2016 from 09:30 CEST to 17:00 CEST.
A Sentinel-1A satellite unavailability occurred on 27 July 2016 from 07:49 UTC to 15:42 UTC. No SAR data were acquired during this period.
While most of us may be looking forward to spending some time in the sunshine this summer, the Sentinel-2B satellite is being subjected to the extreme cold of space to make sure it is fit for life in orbit.
Infrastructure security maintenance activities are foreseen on Wednesday, 20 July 2016 from 09:30 CEST to 17:00 CEST, which may impact the Data Hubs.
