ESA is pleased to announce the first official release of Sentinel-3A SRAL Level 1B-S data products in the Sentinel Data Hub.

Sentinel-3A L1 and L2 NRT data production was suspended on 11 April at noon and will be resumed today, 13 April.

Satellites carrying synthetic aperture radar, in particular the European Union's Copernicus Sentinel-1 constellation, have become the standard instruments to measure coseismic displacements over large areas, critically contributing to improving our understanding of earthquakes. Together with high-resolution images from the Sentinel-2 mission on effects caused by earthquakes, such as landslides, floods, surface ruptures and other surface changes, the two missions offer unique possibilities to monitor disasters.

Due to a Sentinel-2 ground segment anomaly, the publication of Sentinel-2A products in the data hubs was temporarily unavailable on 7 April 2017 between sensing orbit 9345 and 9357.
Due to Land PDGS system issues, Sentinel-3A L1 and L2 NRT data products starting from dump 5939 acquired on 8 April 2017 at 06:06 UTC are partially missing.
Calling on all interested users of Sentinel data, who would like to submit their results, turning their experiences into ‘success stories'.

Oil spills, such as those from the Erika (1999) and the Prestige (2002) tankers, result in huge environmental and economic damage to our coastlines.

Following the maintenance of 4 April, the self-registration function on the Open Access Hub has not been working properly since 5 April 2017, 14:51 UTC. New registered users might not succeed in logging in to the Open Access Hub even after a successful completion of the registration process.
This year's Copernicus Masters competition is now open. With prizes totalling more than €1.5 million, the chance to design and launch a small satellite mission and much more, Europe's leading competition for the novel use of Earth observation has never been so impressive.
An upcoming special issue in Elsevier will report on the Sentinel-2 mission. In the spirit of Open Science, ESA funds - with the support of Elsevier - the open access for up to 24 papers which will be accepted within this special issue.
