As a consequence of a ground segment anomaly, the availability of Sentinel-2 products in the data hubs is delayed since 29 August 2017.
Sentinel-1B was unavailable between 25 August at 23:29 UTC and 26 August 2017 at 09:18 UTC, due to a SAR anomaly. No data were generated during this period.

The Copernicus Sentinel-3A satellite saw the temperature at the top of Hurricane Harvey on 25 August 2017 at 04:06 GMT as the storm approached the US state of Texas.

Kalamos fires

Wildfires have broken out across southern Europe as a heatwave grips the region. This animation created using images from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites show the live blaze and aftermath of wildfires that devastated an area about 35 km northeast of Athens, Greece, in mid-August.
A maintenance activity on the Open Access Hub service, including API Hub, is scheduled on Wednesday, 23 August 2017 from 07:00 UTC to 16:00 UTC.

New portal for EVDC

The ESA Atmospheric Validation Data Center (EVDC) has been migrated to a new portal at evdc.esa.int with upgraded functionalities and new tools. The portal offers access to both Cal/Val data and Satellite products for specific missions. The user community is invited to exploit these new features and to contact the EVDC team (nadirteam@nilu.no) for any further information.
As per the news on 11 August, users are informed that the contingency issue which occurred at Matera has been resolved and a nominal Sentinel-2A/B production was resumed on 16 August.
For the first time in India, a state government is using satellites to assess lost crops so that farmers can benefit from speedy insurance payouts.
As a consequence of a ground segment contingency occurred at Matera station, the publication of Sentinel-2 products in the data hubs is temporarily interrupted as of today 11 August 2017.

Southern Europe is in the grip of a relentless heatwave, fuelling wildfires and water shortages. Information from the Copernicus Sentinel-3A satellite has been used to map the sweltering heat across the region.
