Copyright: Copernicus Service information (2016)/CMEMS/DMI
Description:
This image of the Arctic shows the ice drift as derived from Sentinel-1 imagery in one day, on 28 September 2016, based on the Sentinel-1 constellation imagery acquired on the previous day. Red arrows show the ice drift vectors generated from Sentinel-1B on 28 September, green arrow show similar information derived from Sentinel-1A.
The Sentinel-1 constellation will provide a great added value in the operational monitoring of floating ice in the Arctic and around Antarctica.
