It is our pleasure to announce that our new Sentinel-1 Extended Time Annotation Products (ETAD) are being generated by the S1A Production Services and can be retrieved via the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem. Data from July 21th, 2023 onwards is currently available.

S1 ETAD data include several timing correction layers to be applied on Sentinel-1 IW and SM SLC products. Such auxiliary data, provided in NetCDF format, allow to achieve greatly improved geometric accuracy up to few centimeters. The products encompass ionosphere corrections, troposphere corrections and solid tide earth time corrections. In addition, compensation for "system effects" on the Sentinel-1 timing (Doppler shift, accurate bi-static correction and height dependent FM-rate mismatch) are also provided. To generate such corrections, the Sentinel-1 ETAD Processor (SETAP) uses precise information from different ancillary data sources such as IGS and ECMWF. Note that ETAD products for EW are also available, but are not qualified. More information can be found in the product page, and the technical documentation, e.g., the Algorithm Technical Baseline Document (ATBD), Product Definition Document (PFD) and relevant technical notes are available in the document library. In particular, a summary of the latest calibration of timing offsets is described here. Processing configuration files can be retrieved in the SAR MPC website (https://sar-mpc.eu/adf/aux_itc/and https://sar-mpc.eu/adf/aux_scf/), where the processing versions are also detailed (see https://sar-mpc.eu/processor/setap/).
