A false-colour composite of the Hiiumaa Island in the Baltic Sea, from September 21 and 27, 2016. The red channel is coherence with VV polarisation and the green channel is coherence with VH polarisation. Coherence is calculated for an image pair. The expanded area contains agricultural parcels with different crop species (bottom) and an open peat mine (top). The ratio of coherence values for VV and VH bands differs, making it useful for land cover classification and vegetation parameters retrieval.
