Flowing of river ice-floes

Title: Flowing of river ice-floes

Description: A subsection of the Lena River seen from Copernicus Sentinel-2 and PROBA-V imagery. In this specific section, the free flowing ice-floes are halted by the stationary ice down-river. In the animation, one can see the stagnation of ice-floes as they are juxtaposed against each other, forming an ice front. This ice front slowly migrates up-river against the flow direction.

The difference in resolution between the two satellites is apparent in this animation, with Sentinel-2 acquiring a clear 10 m resolution view, while PROBA-V provides a lower-resolution 100 m image.
