Title:  Copernicus Sentinel-2 contributes to Pakistan charter activation

Description: The International Charter on Space and Major Disasters was activated in response to the floods in Pakistan. The activation – which drew on data from numerous missions – was managed by the UN Satellite Centre (UNOSAT), which is part of the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). This processed image was captured by Copernicus Sentinel-2 on 31 August. It was used to determine the area inundated with flood waters and, along with other data sources, it helped scientists to estimate the number of people affected.
