Two downtimes of the Sentinel-1 Scientific Data Hub are foreseen during Week 14 of 2015. The first downtime will occur on Monday 30 March from 09:00-13:00 CET to perform infrastructure maintenance. The second downtime will occur on Wednesday 1 April from 08:00-16:00 CET for an upgrade of the data hub software configuration.

Scientists are making advances in the use of satellite radar data - such as those from the Sentinel-1 mission - to monitor Earth's changing surface.

ESA and the UK Space Agency have signed an arrangement that establishes access to data from the Sentinel satellites, marking a significant step in their exploitation.
The change of Sentinel-1 Level-1 products format has been shifted to 19 March (see news published on 17 March and 10 March for further details).
With the second Copernicus-dedicated Sentinel satellite just months away from launch, ESA and France's CNES space agency, have signed a collaborative agreement on managing and accessing Sentinel data.

As previously announced, Sentinel-1 Level-1 products will soon change, to comply with the new product format specifications, version 2.9.

A Red Alert has been declared in southern Chile after the eruption of the Villarrica volcano early on 3 March. Thousands of residents in the area have been evacuated and the International Charter Space & Major Disasters has been activated by Chile's risk management authority ONEMI.
