Dear Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem Users,

We would like to inform you about upcoming changes to the Landsat data availability in EOData.

Landsat-8 data, as previously made available by mirroring the data from European Space Agency (Europe coverage, years 2022 till September 2024 footnote: https://earth.esa.int/eogateway/catalog/landsat-8-collection-2-european…) will be accessible via a different s3 path. Current s3 path "s3://EOData/Landsat-8/” will be changed to "s3://EOData/Landsat-8-ESA/”. The EOData Catalogue will also be updated with this information.

At the same time, the ingestion of fresh Landsat-8 data with Europe coverage from this source, will be stopped.

These changes will be implemented in the second half of September.

We would also like to inform you that Landsat-8 Level 1 data with full Worldwide Coverage mirrored from United States Geological Survey, for years 2022 till August 2024 will be available under the existing path s3://EOData/Landsat-8/”.

Additionally, we would like to inform you that Landsat-9 Level 1 data with Worldwide Coverage from United States Geological Survey source, for years 2022 till August 2024 will be available under the existing path s3://EOData/Landsat-9/”.

We will continue to ingest fresh data of Landsat-8 Level 1 and Landsat-9 Level 1 – World Coverage to complete the collection for 2024.

Please note that the new Landsat-8 Level 1 and Landsat-9 Level 1 data will be available only through s3 protocol and only to registered CDSE users. The new Landsat data will be added to the EOData Catalogue later, preceded by an additional announcement.
