This Report analyses the uptake of Copernicus Sentinel data and the performance of the Sentinel Data Access System during the period 1 January 2023 to 31 October 2023.
By the end of the reporting period, at its ninth and final year of operations, the Sentinel Data Access System supported nearly 760,000 registered users, published 80 million user-level data corresponding to over 45 PiB data volume. Users collectively downloaded an impressive 586 PiB since the start of operations. The remarkable growth in data publication and user engagement underscores the success of the Copernicus program and the critical importance of its data services.
The Report provides the detailed statistics behind these big numbers, as well as examining the demographics of users, the status of agreements with collaborative and international partners, the challenges and solutions found by the Data Access Operations team in publishing and disseminating such huge volumes of data.
