As anticipated in our news of 02 April here, we are pleased to inform of the forthcoming opportunities to gradually access the historical Copernicus Sentinel-2 Collection-1 Level-1C and Level-2A , starting in January 2023.
The Copernicus Sentinel-2 Collection-1 is being gradually generated over the historical archive of Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B observations recorded in the period spanning from the Sentinel-2A satellite launch back in 2015 until December 2021. The activity is expected to complete by Q4 2023.
The reprocessing activity is proceeding in reverse chronological order of sensing time starting from December 2021.
Access to the historical Collection-1 products is foreseen via the following DIAS services as from January 2023, namely:
https://creodias.eu | |
https://www.onda-dias.eu | |
https://mundiwebservices.com |
In addition, access to Collection-1 products will be also available shortly after through the new Copernicus Data Access Service. Further details will be provided early 2023.
The data availability plan on the DIAS will be routinely updated here, providing details on the periods published by the DIAS, as well as indicators on the proceedings of the reprocessing with the forthcoming periods soon to be published.
From now on, the interested users are invited to stay tuned on the Collection-1 data access page to get informed on the sensing periods effectively available along time, and to start making use of the long-term time-series that will gradually be generated until Q3 2023, harmonised with all features matured over the years in the Collection-1 configuration.
