Title: Doñana protected area and its hydroperiod

Description: This image of Copernicus Sentinel-2 features the protected area of the Doñana Biosphere Reserve, located in Southwest Spain, and the hydroperiod per pixel, recorded between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017.

The flooded area in the centre corresponds to the marshland area that is usually flooded between October and April. The rice paddies, which may be periodically flooded during the year, are visible in the north-east. The inland areas, which are always covered with water, correspond to salt pans and fish farms. Lastly, the Guadalquivir River and coastal waters are evident in the east and west, respectively.
