Users are informed that due to an anomaly of the EDRS acquisitions service occurred on 31st March and resolved in the morning of 1st April, the generation of a number of products issued from EDRS acquisitions is suffering delays.

Part of the Aquatic Ecosystem Analysis Bachelor Programme, European students gathered online from four different countries, to learn about Remote Sensing for Water Quality Monitoring over the Guadiana River catchment, a cross-border resource between Portugal and Spain, using Copernicus Sentinel-2 data.

Further to our previous announcement of 22 March 2021,we are pleased to confirm the operational deployment of the geometric refinement for Copernicus Sentinel-2 products on 30 March 2021.

As a consequence of maintenance activity executed on the Copernicus Sentinel-3A spacecraft on 17/03 from UTC time 07:01 to 07:37, reduced data quality for all the SRAL related user products should be expected for data sensed during this period. Reduced data quality for SLSTR user products can be moreover expected from approximately 06:51 to 11:06.

As of 23 February 2021, the processing of Copernicus Sentinel-1 L1 and L2 products, tagged as NRT-3h and Fast24h, have been aligned.

A ground segment production issue occurred on the evening of 19 March and was resolved on the morning of 20 March.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming start of the geometric refinement for Copernicus Sentinel-2 products. The goal of this evolution is to improve the multi-temporal co-registration and the absolute geolocation accuracy of the products, by using a Global Reference Image (GRI) as source of Ground Control Points (GCPs) to constrain the geometric model of the images.

Following the announcement on 8 March, please note that:

Due to an issue occurring at PDGS level, the Near Real Time Copernicus Sentinel-3 SRAL NRT and STC Level 1 and Level 2 products starting from approximate sensing time 18:28 UTC on 18 March 2021 will be missed or delayed.

As a consequence of a contingency held at ground network level, the nominal availability of Copernicus Sentinel-2 Level-2A products was prevented on 13 March.
