A significant update of the Copernicus Services Data Hub (CopHub) is planned on 13 March 2017 in order to completely align its data offer to the Copernicus Open Access Hub (previously known as the Sentinels Scientific Data Hub).

Following the appearance of a large crack in the ice shelf close to the Halley VI research station in Antarctica, information from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 satellites helped to decide to close the base temporarily.

Going to space is never routine, and Sentinel-2 mission controllers are leaving nothing to chance as they prepare for the critical days following next month's liftoff.
As liftoff day draws closer, the Sentinel-2B 'to do' list is shrinking as tasks are ticked off, including the tricky process of fuelling the satellite. And, even despite having to do a few unexpected jobs, everything is on track for launch.

The Copernicus Sentinel-1A and -1B satellites have increased the number and quality of detections of icebergs in the waters around Greenland.

Sentinel-3A SLSTR anomaly

15 February 2017

Due to an on-board anomaly on Sentinel-3A, SLSTR products starting from 14 February 2017, 08:09:05 UTC are degraded or missing.

Following useful feedback and agreement with the European Commission it has been decided to rename the "Sentinels Scientific Data Hub" to "Copernicus Open Access Hub".
Due to a Ground Segment anomaly, Sentinel-2A data acquired from approximately 15:00 UTC on 11 February were not made timely available to users in the data hubs. Data dissemination resumed in the morning on 13 February, for data acquired from approximately 00:30 on 12 February. The recovery of the missing products and the return to nominal data availability are expected in the coming days.

Due to a planned PDGS maintenance, Sentinel-2A data products will not be published in the data hubs from 14 February at approximately 16:00 UTC until 15 February at approximately 17:00 UTC.

Referring to the news of 08 February, users are informed that the Ground Segment anomaly has been solved and Sentinel-2A data are nominally available in the data hubs.
