Dr Marie-Hélène Rio is a scientist from CLS, a subsidiary of the French Space agency CNES. She is responsible for developing and merging new algorithms to exploit Sentinel-3 data.

With reference to the news of 25 April ESA is pleased to inform Sentinel-2 users that the dissemination of Level-2A pilot products started in the Copernicus Open Access Hub (including also API Hub) on 2 May for data acquired over Europe (EEA-39).

A maintenance activity is scheduled on 4 May 2017 for updating the software on the data hubs.
Infrastructure maintenance activities for optimising the firewall performance on the Open Access Hub are scheduled on 3 May 2017 from 11:00 UTC to 16:00 UTC.

Images from Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 have been combined to reveal that 36,000 ha of forest has burnt in the Republic of Congo in Africa.

We are pleased to publish the second Sentinel Data Access Annual Report. This 2016 report takes up from where the 2015 report left off, and analyses the uptake of Copernicus Sentinel data and the performance of the Sentinel Data Access System during the period 1 December 2015 to 30 November 2016.

The pre-operational production of Sentinel-2 Level-2A atmospherically corrected data over Europe (EEA-39) is done using Sen2Cor processor (version 2.3.1).
A maintenance activity on the Open Access Hub is foreseen on Friday, 21 April 2017 from 7:00 UTC to 15:00 UTC.

Steffen Dransfeld is in charge of the quality of the data from the Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) and Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) instruments on Sentinel-3.

Sentinel-3 is part of the family of EU-owned satellites that are developed and operated in the context of Copernicus, the largest environmental monitoring programme in the world.
