Minimize Sea Surface Temperature (N2, N3R, N3, D2, D3)

Sea Surface Temperature (SST) on single and dual view, derived from weighted combinations of brightness temperatures measured in nadir and oblique thermal channels, are gathered in an internal package product named SL_2_WCT.

These parameters are generated on the wide 1 km measurement grid and indexed by across track and along track dimensions. Several annotations parameters are associated with these:

  • SST uncertainties
  • derived directly from SLSTR Level-1 products:
    • exception flags
    • quality flags concerning cloud flagging and scan and flip mirror testing
    • arrays of indices to retrieve the position of each pixel in the instrument measurement frame and their time stamps
    • cartesian and geodetic coordinates associated with the radiometric measurements and to the tie-points grid defined for SLSTR
    • meteorological annotations.
