Earth Observation Mode - Instrument Source Packets

In Earth Observation mode, OLCI measurement data packets are delivered in five science packets, one for each camera, every 44 ms, gathering data related to the 21 nominal bands of the instrument, complemented by the smear band.
Products output in Earth Observation mode have two levels of timeliness and one spatial resolution.

  • processing timeliness:
    • Near Real-Time (NRT): products shall be delivered rapidly enough to ensure that corresponding Level1 and Level 2 products are available to users in less than 3 hours after acquisition.
    • Non Time Critical (NTC): products shall be delivered within 1 month after acquisition and archived.
  • spatial resolution:
    • Level 0 products are acquired in Full Resolution (FR), with a ground pixel of approximately 300 m at sub-satellite point (SSP).
