Quality Control

Quality Control

The Copernicus POD Service is responsible for the routine Quality Control of all delivered POD orbital products and auxiliary data.

This activity is carried out by analysing the Metrics derived from the POD processing of GPS data, such as number of accepted and rejected observations per processing and pseudorange and carrier phase residuals, and the Orbit Comparisons against external solutions from independent centres.

Additionally, for Sentinel-3 the residuals from the Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) measurements are computed without being incorporated into the orbit determination process, thus offering an independent means to validate the orbital products.

Regarding the GNSS L1B RINEX files, they are regularly used in the orbit determination process, thus ensuring that both format and content meet the expectations.
