Copernicus Sentinel-1A was unavailable on 22 February 2022 between 04:54 UTC and 14:37 UTC, due to a Payload Data Handling and Transmission (PDHT) sub-system anomaly.

No data were generated during this period, data acquired slightly before this period may have been affected.

Due to Copernicus Sentinel-3A In-Plane manoeuvre on 23rd February 2022, SLSTR Level-1 and Level-2 production degradation is expected for sensing time from 23/02/2022T07:33:46 to 23/02/2022T07:43:36.

A maintenance activity on the data hub services is planned on 23 February 2022 from 07:30 to 16:30 UTC.

During this period, publication delay for all Sentinel-1,Sentinel-2 Sentinel-3 Sentinel-5P products, might occasionally occur on the following hubs:

  • Copernicus Open Access Hub (also including API Hub and Copernicus Sentinels POD Data Hub)
  • Collaborative Data Hub Node1, Node2, Node3
  • Copernicus Services Data Hub
  • International Access Hub
  • Sentinel-5P PreOps Hub

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause to your activities.

Due to Copernicus Sentinel-3B OLCI Instrument on-board calibration on 27th February 2022, OLCI Level-1 and Level-2 production unavailability is expected for sensing time from 27/02/2022T09:06:03 to 27/02/2022T09:07:13.

An update of the Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor (S5p) operational ground-processing system is planned during 9/03/2022. This includes an optimisation in the processing of Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and Formaldehyde (HCHO) products, and an update/addition of related metadata:

  • The global attribute "Status_reference_spectrum" has been updated. Previous version could take values "solar" and "earth" while in the new one (version 2.3) it can take "solar" , "nominal_earth" and "fallback_earth"

  • The following additional metadata attributes are included in the background correction part of the products (/PRODUCT/SUPPORT_DATA/INPUT_DATA/BACKGROUND_CORRECTION/):

    • fallback_reference_date

    • fallback_reference_date_difference

    • fallback_aux_bg_source_filename

    • fallback_aux_bg_source_processingMode

    • fallback_l2_source_filename

    • fallback_l2_source_processingMode

    • fallback_l2_source_orbit

    • fallback_l2_source_sensing_time_start

    • fallback_l2_source_sensing_time_end

Sample data are available here.

Detailed information will be provided within the Product Readme File.

Please note that NRT products for data acquired during the downtime period will be not generated. After the successful deployment of the new system, version numbers of the first orbit generated with the new version of the S5P operational processors both, in NRT and OFFL, will be provided.

Due to the Sentinel-3A OLCI instrument Calibration planned on 17th of February 2022, a degradation of Copernicus Sentinel-3A OLCI products is expected for sensing time from 17-02-2022T09:04:23 to 17-02-2022T09:05:33.

Due to Copernicus Sentinel-3B Moon calibration operation, data degradation is expected, as reported hereafter:

  • SLSTR and MWR products degradation is expected for sensing time between 16-02-2022T23:05:08 and 16-02-2022T23:55:38;
  • SRAL products degradation is expected for sensing time between 16-02-2022T23:06:08 and 16-02-2022T23:35:29;
  • OLCI products degradation is expected for sensing time between 16-02-2022T23:45:44 and 16-02-2022T23:55:38.

Copernicus Sentinel-1A was unavailable on 10 February 2022 between 11:25 UTC and 14:38 UTC, due to a SAR anomaly.

No data were generated during this period.

A maintenance activity on the core infrastructure hosting the data hub services, is planned on the following days:

  • Monday 07/02/2022 from 07:30 to 16:30 UTC

  • Tuesday 08/02/2022 from 07:30 to 16:30 UTC

  • Monday 14/02/2022 from 07:30 to 16:30 UTC

  • Tuesday 15/02/2022 from 07:30 to 16:30 UTC

During this period, service interruptions and publication delay for all Copernicus Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 products, might occasionally occur on the following hubs:

  • Copernicus Open Access Hub (also including API Hub and Copernicus Sentinels POD Data Hub).

  • Collaborative Data Hub Node1/2/3

  • Copernicus Services Data Hub

  • International Data Hub

We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause to your activities.

Antarctica glaciers are sentinels of climate change, and their variations are scrutinized by climate scientists all over the world. Recently, Sentinel-3 SRAL has changed its acquisition mode from Closed-Loop mode to Open-Loop mode, a capability that has demonstrated very efficient measurement acquisition performance over continental waters. The acquisition mode change is active since December 9th, 2021 and is set for some specific locations over the Priestley and Aviator glaciers, located in Victoria Land, Antarctica.
