Users are informed of the planned maintenance for the Sentinel scientific/other use data hub for the installation of a new major release of the rolling archive software.

During the downtime period below, the Scientific Data Hub will not be available for use:

Maintenance start: Friday 05 December 2014 - 09:00 CET
Maintenance stop: Monday 08 December 2014 - 17:30 CET

This new software version features a number of enhanced capabilities together with the correction of reported issues. In particular, the release includes the publishing of the application program interfaces (APIs) enabling the automation of product downloading via scripts. This maintenance anticipates the intended release milestone as defined in the open access datahub roadmap, originally foreseen for end December 2014.

This new datahub software release includes the following main features:
  • Enhanced products ingestion performances
  • Publishing of open data (Odata) and open search (Solr) APIs
  • Indexing of relative orbit numbers to facilitate interferometric queries
  • Inclusion of download pause and resume functions (available within selected Internet browser (e.g. Chrome))
  • Enhanced reactivity of web user interface
  • Updated user guide.

The roll-out of the new software includes the complete Sentinel-1 product re-indexing and associated reset of the rolling archive. As of 8 December, newly acquired Sentinel-1 products will be published on-line with boosted timeliness. All historical products acquired as of 3 October 2014 will be progressively made available on-line as a background activity.

The main focus of this release is related to performance enhancements as well as implementation of new functions. Further new features addressing in particular the graphical interface and products pre-compression are targeted for implementation in early 2015.

The latest open access datahub roadmap is available on the Scihub website. Also see the up-to-date Sentinel-1A data provision plan.
