Copernicus Sentinel-3B OLCI reprocessing data on the Open Access Hub

02 April 2020

Copernicus Sentinel-3B OLCI L1 (OL_1_EFR, OL_1_ERR) and L2 (OL_2_LFR, OL_2_LRR) reprocessed data will be soon available on the Open Access Hub. The time period covered by the reprocessing activity includes the commissioning phase of Sentinel-3B, therefore part of these products are newly published on the data hub and are going to cover a gap of several months of data.

The sensing time interval for each product type is:

  • OL_1_ERR and OL_2_LRR: 14 May 2018 23:56:23 UTC - 30 October 2019 00:37:06 UTC
  • OL_1_EFR: 14 May 2018 23:56:23 UTC – 30 October 2019 00:00:28 UTC
  • OL_2_LFR: 15 May 2018 18:29:47 UTC – 30 October 2019 00:00:28 UTC

The release is expected to start in the next days with Reduced Resolution Products. After few days from publishing of new products, the corresponding old data overlapping in sensing will be deleted from the hub. In order to distinguish the reprocessed data from old products, the former may be identified via a specific query, including the file name ending:

  • '*_MR1_R_NT_002' for L1
  • '*_LR1_R_NT_002' for L2

where:

_R_ stands for reprocessed products
_MR1_ and _LR1_ is for the reprocessing centre that generated the products (Marine Reprocessing Centre #1 and Land Reprocessing Centre #1, respectively).

Reprocessed products will be kept online for a few weeks once published. The release will continue in the same way for the remaining full resolution products, incrementally (oldest data first), in the following weeks.

The processing baseline corresponds to the most updated version for Sentinel-3B, which is version 1.34. See the details of the operational processing baseline.
