The Sentinel-1 Constellation Mission Operations Review, the first ESA mission-level review of the Sentinel-1 mission operations, was successfully passed on 24 May 2017.

The Sentinel-1 mission is composed of two identical radar satellites in orbit (Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B) and a high performing ground segment, timely delivering open and free high quality data to Copernicus services and user communities worldwide, in support of a wide range of application domains. ESA is responsible for the development and the operations of the satellites and the ground segment.

The European Commission, leading the Copernicus Programme, expressed its strong satisfaction to ESA on the major achievements reached with this first mission of the Sentinel series.
