We are pleased to publish the first Annual Report describing the data access towards the Copernicus dedicated Sentinel Missions operated by ESA on behalf of the European Union.

The Sentinels data access system provides complete, "open and free" access for all potential users to the Copernicus Sentinel missions. User access to a rolling archive is granted through web services accessible from the so-called Data Hubs.

The routine data flow from the Sentinel-1 satellite has been made publically available since October 2014. The initial take-up, until the end of November 2015, saw more than 15000 users register for access with 2.7 million products downloaded for a total volume of over 3 Petabytes of data disseminated.

The first Annual Report describes in depth the achievements and observations from the initial data access operations.
