Hellenic National Sentinel Data Hub

02 July 2015

The Hellenic National Sentinel Data Hub (the Greek Mirror Site) was recently opened, and disseminates data from the Sentinel satellites to south-eastern Europe (i.e. the Balkans peninsula, along with Italy, France and the Iberian peninsula) as well as the Middle East and North Africa.

Currently this online platform provides querying, cataloguing, previewing and data transferring capabilities for the Sentinel-1 satellite, but in the future shall also include Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-5P.

The platform is open for access free of charge to the worldwide user community. After two months of operations the Greek Mirror Site has been accessed by a large number of registered users from different countries, European and non-European ones, and has been used for downloading Sentinel-1 data for a variety of application sectors including Land, Disaster Risk & Reduction, Marine, and Border Control.

The platform is available on the Data Hub website.
