Petabyte of data downloaded from Sentinel-1 Scientific Data Hub in first seven months
07 May 2015
One petabyte of data: this is what worldwide users of Sentinel-1A products have downloaded from the Sentinel-1 Scientific Data Hub over the past seven months, since its opening on 3 October 2014. This represents more than 200,000 commonly used DVDs.
More than 6700 users have registered on the data hub so far, and soon these users will have downloaded a total of 1 million products. The data flow generated by the Sentinel-1 ground segment is routinely made available on the hub, accessible to all users, thanks to the Copernicus Sentinel open and free data distribution policy.
The data hub today contains 117,000 products.
