Finalisation of the onboard configuration of the Copernicus Sentinel-1 Wave Mode beam 2 optimisation: Sentinel-1A on 29 June 2021, Sentinel-1B on 1 July 2021
Finalisation of the onboard configuration of the Copernicus Sentinel-1 Wave Mode beam 2 optimisation: Sentinel-1A on 29 June 2021, Sentinel-1B on 1 July 2021
25 June 2021
Following the successful execution of the new SAR Wave Mode beam 2 configuration allowing for an increased performance, ( see previous news item Copernicus Sentinel-1 Wave Mode beam 2 optimisation) a set of operations will be performed on 29 June 2021 for Sentinel-1A and on 1 July 2021 for Sentinel-1B, to make permanent (in EEPROM) the new settings on the onboard SAR database.
For these operations, two consecutive ground station passes are required, resulting in the following SAR unavailability periods:
- for Sentinel-1A between 09:24 and 11:16 UTC on 29 June 2021
- for Sentinel-1B between 09:56 and 11:48 UTC on 1 July 2021
