Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor full mission reprocessed datasets - forthcoming availability

28 November 2022

ESA is pleased to inform of the forthcoming release of Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor (S5P) full mission reprocessed datasets for Carbon Monoxide (L2__CO___), Total Ozone (L2_O3___), CLOUD (L2_CLOUD_) and Absorbing Aerosol Index (L2__AER_AI) products, which will be gradually published starting from around the 5th of December 2022.

The reprocessing baseline (i.e., processor versions and configurations) is equivalent to the baseline deployed in the operational ground-processing system on 20 July 2022 . Therefore, a consistent dataset will be available since the beginning of the operational mission (orbit 2818, 30 April 2018), except for the period covering 1st April 2022 to mid-July 2022 that will be reprocessed later.

The reprocessed products can be found on the S5P Pre-Ops Hub and can be identified by the file class ‘RPRO’ in the filenames. The collection identifier is ‘03’, the same used for the operational dataset that is available since mid-July 2022.

Filename example:

S5P_RPRO_L2__CO____20180430T001950_20180430T020120_02818_03_020400_20220901T170054.nc

It is planned to publish the remaining S5P reprocessed datasets, including the Level 1B products, during the first quarter of 2023.

Detailed information about every product type is provided within the dedicated Product Readme Files (PRF) available in the S5P Products and Algorithms.
